I just got my nipple pierced on December 31st. I had no problems whatsoever with them after the first couple days (once the initial soreness went away)

But about four days ago I was putting on a new bra and the top of it went between my skin and the ring and pulled on it, it hurt for like two seconds but was fine for the rest of the day, that night when I took off the bra for a shower it seemed a little sensitive, and now ever since that day the side of the piercing that was pulled hurts, mostly if I bump it but sometimes if I move the wrong way. The other side is fine and doesn't bother me at all, there is no swelling, discoloration, puss, crust, or anything that might suggest something is wrong.

Is it infected? or is it just still sore because I pulled it? I have a follow up next week, should I wait until I go back to see what they say?

I've had both my nipples pierced for 4 years now. I've had them done for the last 10 years off and on. These past 4 years they've never really healed. Always crusting or a little bit of puss. But the last few weeks they've begun acting up again.

I'm sick of it and am ready to take them out. Does anyone have any suggestions for taking them out. Somehow, just taking out the barbells and that's that doesn't seem right. I was thinking of taking them out, doing a sea salt soak then that'd be it.

I guess I'm afraid that if there is an infection and I take out the barbells, I don't want the infection to "get trapped" inside - if that makes sense.

So if anyone has any suggestions, I'd really like to hear from you.

Just got back from getting my nipple re-pierced after letting it heal for a few months. I had it pierced about 6 years ago at 14 gauge, no problems at all. Went up to a 10 gauge, and had problems from the git-go, it migrated out despite daily saltwater soaks and all sorts of pampering on my part. The piercer got behind the scar tissue, and is really optimistic that I shouldn't have any problems. I'm still somewhat on the endorphin rush that kicks in right after...it looks GREAT, I had really missed it.

So about 18 months ago, I had my left nipple pierced with a 12ga barbell. I wanted a CBR, but the woman who did the piercing suggested a barbell so it would heal better. As I had previously tried to have my right nipple pierced, only to have it migrate, I said okay. She suggested waiting until it healed and then switching the jewelry.

About 7 months later, it seemed to be doing well so I went back in and unknowingly, made a mistake. I had them put in a ring, but also had them stretch it to 10ga at the same time.

After I did this I had no end of issues. I didn't think about the fact that it would be back to healing after the stretch. About 5 months ago, I gave up and had a 10ga barbell instead. It cleared up within weeks.

Does anyone have experience with 'Nipple Trainers'?

The Common Cold and The Pierced Nipple
Do you notice your piercings act up when you have a cold? I had both of my nipples pierced in early august and though they have done well (I think, these are my first non-ear piercings) they still occasionally get irritated and seem to get really angry when I'm sick. I have a cold at the moment and the left one is really angry, hurts and draining slightly off color stuff. The right one seems fine with just a little bit more (white to clear) discharge then usual. At this point I'm still cleaning them once a day when I shower and I try to salt soak everyday.

A slight problem
I took my jewelry out (I had 14G vertical bars in) for one day and I'm having trouble getting it back in. I've had my nipples pierced for a little over a year now. I can get maybe 1/4 of the barbell back in but the hole starts bleeding a lot and blood starts beading up slightly in other areas of my nipple too. (Sorry if that's too graphic for anyone, it kinda freaked me out so I didn't push it.)

My question is, is this normal? and what can I do about it? Should I just go into a shop and have them put them back in for me? Can I use anbesol to numb the area beforehand?

Sorry if my questions seem silly I just really want my jewelry back in :o(

End of an Era
Not a happy camper...I had to take out my nipple piercing on Friday that I'd had for about 6 years. Grrr....

The trouble started when I went from a 14 guage to a 10 guage about a year and a half ago. It looked amazing, but I started fighting migration shortly after going up. I did daily soaks most of that time and all the regular aftercare you'd do after you had a new piercing. As much as I liked the look, it was getting to the point where I could see the jewelry through the skin, and it hurt nearly all the time.

Any ideas on how long I should wait before getting it re-pierced? Should I maybe go straight to the 10 guage instead of stretching?

Hi! I'm new, my name is Lyndsay, and I've had my nipples pierced for about a week. They honestly didn't hurt a bit, and they are healing quite nicely. I LOVE them. I had no nipple sensitivity at all before last wednesday, and now, well...I feel like a new woman!

First I had barbells, but I felt they were too long and weren't aesthetically pleasing. Then I changed then to CBRs, but I couldn't get the ball snapped in, so I just have these open rings chillin' in my nipples.

I really want curved barbells. I would just go out and get a nice pair of plain ones, but I've already spent close to $50 on jewlery alone for these piercings. I know I won't be happy with the regular ones, and my broke ass can't afford to spend any more money if it's not something will keep for a while.

What I REALLY want to have are curved barbells that have rhinestones on both ends. I've looked in a few stores, and can't seem to find anything of the sort. Could any of you help me out?

hello lovelies-
i'm saving up currently to have my nipples pierced. i'd like to hear stories about your experiences! specifically, how much did it cost, what kind of jewelry did you choose, and do you know any good places in the west chester/philadelphia area?

any other bits of information would be good too. i've done a lot of research, but it's always good to get more info.

So I got my nipples pierced again. Hurrah.

PicturesCollapse )

It didn't hurt nearly as much as it has in the past and I spent a lot of cash at the shop last night. $150 to do the piercings (new jewelry...) and to stretch my ears (more new jewelry)

So, there they are.

Done by Pam at Obscurities in Dallas, TX.

X-posted, sorry.

Hey guys!

Wondering if any of you could help me out here..

I got my nipples pierced about a year and a half ago at a local place. They're fine..but now I want to take them out for some reason.

I'm very worried.

Do you think if I go down there they'll have a way to unscrew them somehow?
As dumb as it sounds, I don't want to lose my nipples.

Any of you been there? What would you guys do?

So I pierced my right nipple last night myself. Its a rather long story, but I thought Id share incase anybody is interested in my experience.

So a while back I ordered a 14G hallowed needle, 2 black curved barbells, and a pair of piering forceps. I think this was back in August or something. Anyways, I iced my left nipple till it was nice and numb and I closed my eyes and shoved the needle through. I was so estatic! I had actually pierced my nipple. Then on to the other, I did the same thing, only being right handed it waasnt as easy. I ended up going in at a 45 degree angle. Needless to say I took. I decided Id wait for it to heal and then do it again. Since then I havent built the same courage to do it again until last night. I was on the phone with 2 friends talking about piercings, tattoos, whatever. And all of that talking really really made me want to pierce my other nipple, so I decided "ok, im going to do it!"

I boiled my supplies and iced myself up really well and after a pep talk from my friend eventually did it. It went right through and I barely felt a thing, only i went through the center of my nipple. I took it out and decided, "ok well Ill just try again." It was pretty bloody after that. But I was determined. Id waited this long. My other nipple piercing has completely healed by this point and I wanted another to match it. I knew if I didnt do it then and there that Id regret it.

So I went in again. New hole, same mistake! At this point I was going "ok how many times can somebody mess up like this!" So then I iced it and thought about it for a while. I realized I needed to move more towards the base of my nipple. Not all the way back since I plan on eventually doing vertical piercings behind it. So I iced up some more and waited until I was really numb. The blood was everywhere, I mean, everywhere. It was dripping on my sweatpants and everything. I actually thought it was so pretty I took a few pictures. Its a good thing I find blood to be absoutely beautiful or I dont think I could have continued with the procedure.

So I knew what I had to do and I was ready and calm this time. When I had been icing myself I had let my mind wander onto different things. So I was very relaxed. I went it, and to my suprise, the needle wouldnt go anywhere! I mean, it was half way in and I couldnt get it to go through. I didnt know what the hell was going on. I was worried thatmaybe I had a hit a spot that shouldnt get pierced or maybe scar tissue would do that? I had no idea. Im by no means close to a professional piercer (though had i been doing this to someone else im sure it would have come out right the first time). So I wasnt sure what to do and the needle was so far in that after i maneuvered the forceps off I could actually leave the needle in and it would stay. So I just held the ice on there wondering what to do.

I tried to get it in somemore and it worked up until the needle tip was just poking out and it didnt want to go anymore. So I waited maybe another 10-15 minutes with the ice on and eventually it got through. I took it out,and tried putting the barbell in and accidently went through one of my prior mistakes. I took it out and tried going in from the left side. I got it in but it wouldnt go through. It took a lot of forcing but eventually it got through. I screwed the ball back on and it was finished. I had finally pierced my other nipple. I thought itd just be happy it was over with, but instead i was absolutely estatic. You have to realize, Ive always been obsessed with pierced nipples. I just abosoutely love them. I have for a while. If piercings were just as permanent as tattoos Id still get them, and even do them myself.

I did them myself for 2 reasons. The first being that im only 16. My mother would never in her life let me pierce anything besides my ears. She hates body piercings with a passion. The other reason is my lack of money. I cant afford to pay someone else. So that only leaves the option of doing an at-home procedure because for someone who wants it as badly as me not getting it done just isnt an option.

Anyways, I absolutely love it. Eventually Im going to put vertical ones in. Im not saying that I reccomend anybody else do the same thing. At least have a friend do it who can see whats going on better.

Decisions, decisions
So as some of you know, I'm having issues with my nipple project.

They're just not improving AT ALL and are affecting my ability to restrain animals in school because of their extreme sensitivity.

I am considering removing all 4 piercings but the idea of that much scar tissue makes me want to try to stick it out.

Even if I baby the hell out of my nipples while they heal, how much scar tissue would I be dealing with here?
Anyone think it'll affect getting 4 piercings done again at a later date?

How long do you think I'd need to wait to start over?
I'm thinking a year. Anyone agree/disagree?

I'm going back to see Allen at Obscurities in the near future to get his opinion, I just wanted y'all's first!

Edited to add: I've been told that my piercings are deeper than normal nipple piercings. Maybe because of this, the scar tissue will not interact with properly placed nipple piercings?
Do you think because they are deeper it will make the scar tissue less/worse/the same as correctly done ex-nip piercings?

do any of you girls (sorry guys) experience that your nipples react to your periods? mine get all super-sensitive (in a bad way) and then they're fine when i'm done.

Multiple nip piercing problems

Background of nipple piercingsCollapse )

I think it is becoming a losing battle with my nipple piercings.

The horizontals might be migrating. The end of the barbells that were pointing in a straight line towards my spine are now starting to point downwards.
It's only slight, if they're migarting at all. I may be imagining it.

The main problem is this: Ever since the jewelry change to the longer barbells at Obscurities 2 weeks ago, the verticals are increasingly sensitive (in a bad way!) and very painful when accidently bumped.
They bleed on a daily basis, constantly have yellowish-green discharge (that was happening before the jewelry change, though). The actual milk ducts in each nipple also have their own regular discharge but I think it's just excess lymph as it is only white in color.
The skin around all four holes are dry and peeling.

What does everyone think? Is this a losing battle? What would you do if you were in my shoes?
Obviously the horizontals will be crooked and won't go back.
But I wonder if they will only get worse. And what is to become of my verticals? I wouldn't be so worried but it seems that they are getting worse and defintely not better...

Sorry about the length. Sometimes I think I get too detailed about these things...

I got my nipples pierced about two and a half months ago, and at first the healing process was a dream- no problems, no complications. About three weeks ago, I got sick and it seemed like that inflamed the piercings, but I went back to three-times-a-day salt soaks and they calmed down. My lymph nodes are no longer swollen and the nipples look fine and don't hurt.

But now they itch, so much that I'm losing it. All I want to do is gouge my nipples open and make it stop. It isn't painful but it sure as hell is distracting. I don't think they're infected, they look and feel fine otherwise. The itch is bad enough though that if it's never going to go away, I'm taking them out (which I don't want to do, I like them).

Is this a normal stage of the healing process, or should I be getting myself to a doctor? If it is a normal stage, how long till it stops?

I just wanted to jump in and say hi now that I have something to talk about. I went and had my left nipple pierced at Body Modifications in San Francisco on Sunday. I tried to do this once before, but my first attempt at a piercing started to migrate and we took it out. That was back in 2002, so it took three years for me to try this again.

I'm still not sure why the first one didn't take, but I did things differently this time. This time I got a SSS Barbell rather than a Niobium CBR... the barbell won't get pulled as much, and I while I was told it shouldn't matter, it seems like everyone suggests SSS until it heals.

I'm really happy I had it done, and I think this one will stay in. It looks nice, and it's healing nicely considering it's only been a couple of days. Just a few spots of blood when I woke up this morning.

If you care to take a look, pics can be found here, and here.
